Fate or Free Will?
Throughout history, astrologers and philosophers have wrestled with one of the most enduring questions: To what extent is life determined by fate, and to what extent do we shape it through free will?
If astrology carries any truth, it suggests that the universe is not governed by randomness, but by a meaningful order that the positions of the planets reflect the movement and evolution of human life. This vision of the cosmos proposes a world that is synchronistic rather than accidental, woven with invisible patterns that shape our inner and outer realities.
This question, fate or free will is not just an abstract debate for me. It’s something I’ve pondered deeply over the years. I've questioned, explored, resisted, returned. My worldview has shifted and reshaped itself many times in the process. Astrology became a turning point in that journey, a lens that helped make sense of something I had felt for a long time but couldn’t quite articulate. It didn’t give me all the answers, but it offered a language for understanding myself and the universe in a more coherent way.
While astrology is often met with skepticism in our modern world, anyone who truly pays attention to the rhythms of time and the movement of the sky will begin to notice the striking correlations. These patterns may not always be scientifically measurable, but they are experientially undeniable.
For me, astrology is not about predicting the future with certainty, nor is it about surrendering agency to the stars. Instead, it offers a way of seeing, one that honors both structure and choice, both the patterns we were born with and the freedom we have to live them consciously.
In this post, I want to share how I work with astrology, not as a way to give your power away, but as a path to reclaim it.
Astrology as a Tool for Self-Insight
I use astrology as a tool for self-awareness, conscious choices, and personal growth, always with deep respect for each individual’s free will and responsibility. To me, astrology is a powerful tool for self-discovery, development, and making intentional decisions. The birth chart reveals our fundamental tendencies, motivations, and potentials but not how our lives must unfold.
We always carry responsibility for our own actions and choices. Astrology helps illuminate the patterns and possibilities, but how we respond to them is our own journey.
A pathway
Working With the Energies, Not Against Them
I don’t see astrology as a way to predict the future in exact detail, or as a reason to hand over your power to the planets. On the contrary, astrology increases our awareness of the energies moving in and around us, so that we can work with them instead of against them.
When we know that certain periods naturally support change, new beginnings, or reflection, we can act at the right time and use those energies to our advantage.
Predetermined Structures – Freedom Within Them
I see life as a blend of predetermined themes and personal freedom. We can’t change the basic patterns we were born with, but we can choose how to live them.
A deck of cards
I see life as a blend of predetermined themes and personal freedom. It’s like being dealt a hand of cards at birth. We can’t switch the cards, but we can choose how we play them. Some hands require patience and strategy, others can be played with joy and spontaneity. Astrology helps us understand what we’re holding, so we can play our cards with greater awareness, freedom, and strength.
Astrology as Support for Responsibility and Freedom
For me, astrology is about supporting people in reclaiming their freedom, responsibility, and self-awareness, never about giving away your power to the stars. By understanding our inner patterns and the quality of time, we can make conscious choices and live more in tune with ourselves and the world around us.
